Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Good grief.

Customer Mark Rose contacted me to suggest sealing the final contact between the earth cable and the copper tube with a whole tube of clear silicon sealant, left for 24 hours to fully dry inside and out. I think this is good practice, though I actually leave mine so that I can periodically check and retighten the bolt.

Digging one meter down for each inspection, not to mention the corrosion aspect of the whole thing!

instead of taking the P you could always go to their contact us page (ok, contact them)

Quite often HI-FI enthusiasts will come up with some wonderfull idea.
the one that always tickles me is oxygen free cable

Is the "earth" he's using there the electrical earth of the hifi (if so, in addition or instead of the main earth), or is it a functional "ground" that some hifi equipment requires?

I can see where he's going with it, attempting to gain a "clean" earth with no mains interference.

If you've just spent £25,000 on speaker leads, plus whatever fortune your hi-fi cost, you may actually notice the difference when you install a clean earth or if you leave the power on for a week. But you'd have to be completely mad to do this in the first place. The system I have at home will blow all ultra-hi-fi clean out of the water - mostly because it is 7000W - but the leads only cost £20 and I haven't installed a clean earth. Does that make me a bad person?

You can also have your house rewired by £50/day labourers that you won't be able to communicate with, but they will install 5 sockets for the price a qualified spark would charge for 1, so does that make it better?

I like this quote he makes

Hmm, combine that on a PME install with having your own earth spike and the earth path being your EL34's.

That'll make em light up if a neutral fault occurs........

Lets do all the tests then
Continuity
Insulation Resistance
Polarity
Grid Bias setting.....
