hall and landing wiring

hi all ive read the post with the wiring diagrams in and noting matches mine. sorry if this post has been done before. i changed my hallway and landing switches and have got the wiring a bit wrong. downstairs i have a double switch with 2x 2 core cables black and red one pair feed to the landing the other pair im not sure where they go also there was a short piece of red wire bridging 2 terminals orriginaly. on the landing there 3 wires one red and 2 black one of the black ones goes to the lights and the other 2 come from the hall. how do these need to be wired to get the lights working in the correct way again? i amaware i need a re-wire its on the to save for list. tanks for any information

I can't tell you which pair is which downstairs. You'll need a multimeter to check that.

But one pair is live feed and hall switchwire, the other pair is strappers for the landing.

Live to a common terminal with the link wire to the other common.

Hall switchwire in L1 on one side, strappers in L1 & L2 on the other.

Landing: Find the pair of wires (ie red/black in one sheath) they go to L1 & L2.

The third wire goes in common.

Don't forget the earths go to the box.
