Having a new boiler installed and at the same time thinking of replacing hall radiator which is double panel 600 x1000, probably about 20 years old, it can get a bit cold in the hall in winter and I can fit a slightly bigger k2 radiator at 700 x 1000 will it make any significant difference, I dont know the btu of old radiator but new ones seem to be in the 6700 range.

There would be a marginal increase,most type 2 double panel BTU is less than 6000.
