Hi
I've just bought some new internal door handles and i've got a problem.
The handles came with the long connecting bar but they are 10mm too long.
I've tried using the existing bars and they are the same length so don't fit either. Can you buy these bars on their own? If so what do i ask for?
I've just moved home and money is a bit tight so i really need a cheap solution if possible :)

Thanks in advance

The square follower bar that you refer to is easily cut to length using a hacksaw...don't overdo it though or you'll find it will disengage from one handle!
John :)

3 cut fingers and a bruised hand
I did it though

Now to find a way to get the screws into the wood

Thanks for the reply John :) really appreciated

The job's a good 'un ;)
To put screws into timber like this its best to drill a small hole called a 'pilot' hole (about half the diameter of the screw).
If the screws you intend are brass then its often wise to put steel ones in first so the heads don't get mashed......
A squirt of WD40 on the screws may help if its a hardwood door.....
I'll get my anorak now..... :p
