my new handrail is too long, it comes in 3 pieces with 4 brackets and all the measurements to fit the brackets on the wall are around this length could i just cut a few inches off each and adjust the measurements all will it all go wrong ... help before i cut please :(

not enough information really
we dont know what sort
the securing method
the connection method
the material its made from

yep defo written by a woman if i was a man i would have probably finished the job by now... ye see men are good for some things :D

are all the rails the same length and how much do you need to remove ??
my thoughts are take it half off the center 2 parts then iff around the 150mm mark off each the brackets will be evenly spaced ??

all 47 in lengths.. its around a foot too long, i may get someone it to do it, its newly plastered or i would have just place the brackets in the old places and taken it from there, anyway thanks for you help il work it out eventually am sure (y):p

i will try that hopefully it cant go wrong , many thanks

ahh ok my mistake had 4 lengths in my head
its only 3 you have 141" you are removing 12=129" first and last bracket 6"in so gives a span off 117" divided by three=39" so middle section 39" and each end 45" to give a total off 129 with all brackets evenly spaced

its 3 lengths 4 brackets... i haven't worked the measurements out as yet.. am all confused to say the least  right now ...
