Altering stairs, have replaced bottom four tread with a winder, where old rail is cut will install newel post and new rail into the ceiling as existing, but would like to have rail continue to top of stairs and turn into oak post at top [see pic].
Any design suggestion on how to achieve this? [previously had handrail on the left as well to provide rail to top landing].

Saw that thread but does not solve problem, stairs are too narrow to put spindles on steps , was thinking of maybe a bracket off side of stairs and then run it up to post but would leave an overlap on the hand rail.Or T off the top of the handrail next to ceiling and then return to post may look a bit weird though..
