Good Afternoon

I need to hang 2 hooks from a ceiling but I cannot see any nail heads etc to find good anchoring points.

I trust I need a stud detector right?

Thank you

Boons   :?

Remember that the joist are not designed to be pulled, What sort of weight are you going to be hanging?

depends on what your hanging and whats abouve the ceiling!!!!!!!

if its for a punchbag for example and its upstairs youll need extra support

if its for a clothes airer youll be ok

try tapping with the head off the screwdriver and listen

keep in mind the joist will probably be every 16" or 400mm from one wall or the other so try tapping in these areas

also your light fitting are likly to be fairly central between two joists

great minds ehink alike :D :D :D

Thanks guys

Its a couple of light weight items, a mobile and a toy holder tube thing.

in that case drill the hole where you want it and use a plasterboard toggle/plug. It will be more than sufficent for the weight.

Becareful if any electricial cable above, might be best to use a philip screwdriver gently to make the hole so it doesn't damaged the electric cable
