Hi, we were wondering whether anyone can help on this matter. We are getting one of those acrylic bubble chairs that are attached to a chain and you hang from a ceiling joist. There seems to be very little information about how you'd hang this chair and the only things we can find is how to hang a hammock from a wooden ceiling joist or from concrete. Does anyone know whether we could drill a hole into an RSJ to put a hook into it to hang this chair from? The rsj is exposed at the moment but will be boxed in.

Any advice will be much appreciated,

many thanks
jeff and joss

I would be a lot happier to see a ringbolt (forged end, not just bent) if people are putting their weight on it.

Dont put the hole too close the the web or the edge of the bottom flange of the steel. Try to possition them about 1/2 way in if possible and make them circular not square etc.
