Happy New Year everyone.

Bleedin' fireworks didn’t finish round here until the early hours and that was what sounded like a 51 gun salute outside our bedroom window at 1.50am!

Happy New Year to one and all.
May 2023 bring you health, wealth and happiness to you and your families.

Quite quiet in the countryside but someone on the new housing estate further along the road, (there's only about 20 houses built out of a planned 76), decided to let a small barrage off at midnight. Lasted all of 30 seconds and it was over.

That was the cheese repeating on you!

Happy New year. The big ben chimes on the hootenany programme on the beeb. When they struck midnight my i phone said it was 7 seconds past midnight, which is correct? The iphone surely...

Blup

We watched the last bit of the Sam Ryder New Year’s Eve concert last night. Very good although I suspect it wasn’t all live. A good few years ago Mrs Mottie and I went to the Take That New Year’s Eve party at the O2 that was being broadcast 'live'. We had to do the happy new years countdown bit around 9.00 and Gary Barlow apologised to everyone that they (and the Sugarbabes) would be mainly singing some unknown stuff as fillers until about 11.00 before they played the well known stuff. The 9.00 recording was played at midnight on TV. It was weird but you wouldn’t have known if you weren’t there. I felt a bit conned to be honest - it was more a TV recording than a concert and you don’t pay to go to TV recordings - I forget what I paid but it was over a ton a ticket.

Mottie are you suggesting that some things on telly are not all they seem to be?

Well, I’m pretty sure there aren’t any such places as Walford, Weatherfield and Emmerdale but I do know that so-called 'live' concerts on New years Eve are not always truly 'live'.
