Once you step outside of it, you give up your right to be protected by it.
You might want this to be true. Even I might want it to be true. But it isn't true.

You appear have a clear and firm opinion about what you believe is wrong with the law - have you written to your MP to ask him to change it?

............. the bottom line is that everyone deserves the protection of the law, including the toe-rag that Tony Martin shot dead.

They might get it as a result of the legal system, but they don't DESERVE it. They deserve to be disposed of. Toe rags only get protection while we have a relatively stable society. When that crumbles, they will get what's coming, but then so will lots of others, deserving or not, then it will be Prescott's Law.

Please write to my MP, as I can't be bothered since they are already discussing what to do, but as soon as there's an idea, someone starts on about they deserve same rights as everyone else.

i hope soft touch, sorry i mean softus is not on the bench when the guy who shot ryes eventuality gets caught i am sure all he's familey will appreciate your sentiments,
dont talk bullsh#t when horsesh#t will do the job when in douth dish it out :x the world is full of misguided fools and list of hurt gets bigger

I think Softus is just laying down the legalities
No, Softus is laying down his opinion as always which is no more or less valid than anyone else's on the forum.

We must all make up our own minds as to the rights and wrongs of this.

I don't disagree with Softus that everyone deserves the protection of the law and certainly don't advocate vigilante behaviour but I also believe in poetic justice which, in this case, seems to have been delivered in spades

magawatt ,justice or revenge suppose it depends whats happen to you .but as for those who say you have to forgive to move on bull i could move on with my twopennys worth of revenge ,as someone said you are in court dont think justice lives hear :)

billyo, I don't what bench you're referring to, but if you're referring to the killer of Rhys Jones, then I would have no difficulty in supporting the conviction of someone who had a fair trial and was found to be guilty.

I don't know why you don't just ask me what I meant. Part of it was opinion, but most of it was indeed how the law of the land stands - a law that everyone who has ever voted at a constituency election explicitly supports, and that every such voter who has never acted to change it implicitly accepts.

If you don't agree with the law, then do something about it - whinging on obscure Internet forum achieves very little.

i think mr bumble said the law is a ass sir, it takes years to change just one law , as in sarha's law , its easyer to make or break the law than change it , not many law makers have the will :?

We've been here before Softy boy and no doubt will find ourselves here again

Your interpretation of the law of the land may not be mine or anyone else's ... You are not (to the best of my knowledge) a member of the legal profession and are no more (or less) qualified to say what is and what is not an illegal act in this instance.

If you don't agree with the law, then do something about it - whinging on obscure Internet forum achieves very little.
I've already said that I don't disagree with the actions or outcomes here and wasn't aware that having an opinion which differs from your's amounts to whinging.

the road to hell is full of good intention. my interpretation of the law would seem to you the same as the judges, we seem to get it wrong most of the time, but only you really know how to interpret it, :? the daily papers in the past have run campaigns to remove judges mostley with the backing of joe public, but if you like we will look to you to tell us how to get it rigth after all how can we be expected to interpret the law when even strasburge and westminster get it so wrong, we never went to law school but has that help the british goverment, no. and if the law is fair why are so many people trying to change so much of it i will bow to your superior wisdom and wisk you a fond ferwell for now  see ya monday
