Anybody know how to seal the joints in hardi-backer board. The webpage suggests using alkaline tape. Is this the same as normal plasterboard joint tape?

Just had the boards delivered and was quite suprised at how heavy they are. I was planning to mount the boards onto a stud wall made from 3x2 then tile afterwards. Is 3x2 ok to support such weight?

fibre tape will reduce cracking, non will increase it
