i have removed all the old plaster from a 1930s house.
Would render be better than hardwall to help tie in briks etc before plaster top coat?
someone said hardwall will prevent cracking and help bond loose blocks in the wall?

The biggest problem with render is that it's so bloody cold in winter - BRRRRRRRRRR

With heating bills going through the roof. I'd use insulated plasterboard.

Lime would probably be more appropriate if you stripped off lime in the first place.
