I'm about to buy a hardwax oil ( Osmo or granwax- anyone know if they are of the same quality?) for recently sanded parquet flooring and wondered how good this would be for untreated oak veneered doors. I was going to use a granwax granglaze satin polyurethane but wondered how a hardwax oil would compare for quality of finish, durability etc.

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Osmo has special products for doors.

The standard hardwaxoil from Osmo tends to take much longer to dry than other brands like Blanchon.
We've been given a tester from granwax: wasn't really impressed by it.

Cheers for that woodyoulike, your website has proven very useful too. I might go for the osmo hardwaxoil rapid for the floors and the osmo door oil for the doors.

Out of interest what put you off the granwax hardwaxoil?

Didn't give the same (better) result as the Blanchon HWO we normally use, too sticky too.
