Afternoon all,
Newbie here who'll be asking a lot of questions.
I know the hardwood on concrete subfloor question has been asked a good few times, i just wanted to know for certain what i should be doing.
I've just bought a spanking new house from Taylor Wimpey and the amount of money they charge for "extras" is ridiculous so i'm going to do a lot myself. I'm quite competent at diy so i think i'll be ok.
Anyway, i'll be laying 18mm solid flooring through the hallway and dining room. Am i correct in saying that all i'll need to do is lay a dpm on top of the concrete floor and then the wood flooring on top of that? Or do i have to put plywood down as well - my aversion to this is that it'll raise the height of the floor up by more than 20mm which i think is quite a lot.
Cheers guys
Steven
