I posted a thread about my insignia oil pressure warning light coming on a few weeks back. 2011 model ( know oil pickup up seal problem) I took it for a spin, after 5 mins the warning light went bananas . I parked it for a bit and then tried to drive home after 10s it made a death sound ( dont ask) and just cut out engne stopped. All lights work but won't turn over, and the orange engine light is on. Battery measured at 12v timing belt sill in tact. Has it seized? I recon so after my old posts views. Thanks all. im sure it was a gonner, amyway, but just confirming?

Thanks Harry, I'll have a google of how to do that. Will the wheels turn in neutral so I can get it on a tow truck?

You could also mark up one of the pulleys with a sticker, tippex etc, depress the clutch, then let the car roll away some, leave in gear 4, as it's rolling lift the clutch to the biting point and wait for the car to stop. If the pulley moved (as evidenced by the tippex) then the engine isn't necessarily seized

Yes. In neutral there is no connection between the wheels and the engine (the gearbox does the disconnect). You can also depress the clutch, which is another way to disconnect the wheels from the engine (the clutch does the disconnect)
