I have lined my bathroom floor with WBP ply and I'm at the stage where I need to install the shower tray and tile the floor and walls.
Following the shower tray installation guide, it says to lay on it on a weak sand and cement mix but first to seal the area with a clear waterproofing agent. I bought Dunlop SBR universal bonding agent which says it can be used for Priming, Sealing and Dustproofing.
To ensure ive purchased the right product i called the Dunlop helpline and he says i shouldn't be installing the shower tray or tiling on ply and should only be tiling on tile backer board.
Questions
Am I ok to proceed with installing the shower tray on wbp ply?
Is SBR the right product to use before laying a bed of mortar for the tray?
Should I use the SBR bonding agent before I lay the bed of mortar or not at all?
Appreciate the help.
Cheers
Simon
