Doctors are being asked to divulge patients addresses.......
And upfront healthcare charging has resulted in some eligible being denied treatment.
Its not as black and white as the DM imply. However I disagree that the NHS should be free for everybody, however Id rather that than waste money to get some - the system needs to be fair and cost effective.

Dr Jackie Applebee, a GP in east London who proposed the motion, said the policy was a breach of the founding spirit of the NHS.
“Determining eligibility for free NHS care will inevitably lead to racial profiling,” she said. “For if the sheep are to be separated from the goats, both must be classified. What began as an attempt to keep the health service for ourselves would end by being a nuisance to everybody.
“Charging is not only harmful for those who are charged, it has public health implications for us all and introducing charging for some makes it easier to extend charging to the rest of us.
Why is the policy of charging those from abroad a breach of the founding spirit of the NHS -I would argue, it is protecting it.

I'm at odds with this statement...
Not because I don't believe that we should treat all and sundry (much to Bodd's chagrin)...
But simply because of when I have been an outpatient for routine stuff over the last few years, I have been asked if I have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years...
Ask everyone, and no racial profiling!
(the 'sheep and goats' argument is neither here nor there)
But it's interesting that the government always shifts the 'blame' for a policy elsewhere...
They make the lorry driver culpable for any illegal immigrant stowaways.
They make the restaurant owner culpable for any illegal immigrant worker.
They make buy to let landlords culpable for illegal immigrant tenants...
But never blame themselves for the mess that they make!

So focusing on less than half of one percent yet not one word about the privatisation of the blood supplies or the price gouging by Pharmaceuticals or the crazy PFI deals.

So pharmaceutical prices will rise post Brexit so I want everyone who voted Brexit to say that at the time of every treatment and pay a surcharge, only fair those that have raised costs should pay more.
The idiocy of this focus on health tourists but forgetting all the other ridiculous costs put onto the NHS post the 2012 reforms and cuts. It shows you are not being honest in your motivations.
