Hi guys. I had a problem with my heating system in the sense that i had to have the water and heating on at the sme time. Assumed it was the three way valve as the switch didnt move.(thought it was probably sticking.) Purchased one and just fitted it.The switch now moves but the heating doesnt turn on and neither does the pump.i googled a wiring diagram and found this -

I assume the power goes to the orange wire of the valve?? Am i missing something obvious. Please help Jon

Is there a wire supposed to be from the white wire of the valve to the pump and boiler?
Yes - without it, the heating will not work. All 5 wires must be connected properly.

The white wire does NOT connect to the pump or boiler - it is the control input for the heating, and is connected via the room thermostat to the programmer/timer.
Orange is NOT the 'power in' either, it is the output which activates the boiler.

Cheers buddy.I figured out what i had done.Instead of connecting the orange to the pump/boiler.I had collected it to the tank thermostat. Doh! Thanks for the help. Jon
