My timer keeps reverting to factory defaults and the manufacturer has told me that the internal rechargeable battery has probably come to the end of its life. They suggest that I buy a new one.

Before I go to this expense I wondered if there was any way I could replace the rechargeable battery as I do prefer to mend rather than throw if at all possible. I have asked the manufacturer but, needless to say, they haven't bothered to reply.

Many thanks in advance

Not much more you can do than get a screw driver, take it to bits and identify the battery.
See if you can get an identical one or an equivalent and then get the soldering iron out, remove the old one and solder the new one in.
Then see if you can remember how to put it all back together again

Thank you Spark - I think I shall wait until the cold spell has gone before I tackle that one, so if I can't work out how to put it back together again I can survive until I get a new timer! At least at the moment I can always reset it to get it working again.

It would be good to know if anyone out there has actually replaced one and knows the pitfalls.
