i have a back boiler. the heating and water is set on a timer.

1= it comes on but doesnt go off at all even though timer has gone off.

2= it doesnt come on even though timer is on?

when i go into my tank cupboard, there is a box connected to the pipes with like a slider switch, i slide it under pressure and the heating turns off or turns on and then works correct for a day, then back to not working

any help please much appreciated

Sounds like the valve you mention in your airing cupboard is sticking, or at least the microswitch in the head is.

If it is just the microswitch then you can probably replace the head only depending on make, model and age.

If the valve body sticking then it will need a complete new valve.

If the head only can be replaced then about £90 + VAT.

If entire valve needs changing then around £200 + VAT
