I saw some stuff in B&Q that was the equivalent of solvent weld in waste pipe. It was a bottle of copper coloured liquid that you used to glue copper pipe into copper fittings with. Can't remember its name but does it have a use? Under floorboards where there's a fire risk? Does anyone keep it in their kit?

I was one who was sent a sample and tried it in our workshop on a section of pipe to sink unit, It failed.

Also remember that copper pipe is bonded to an earth conductor to ensure equal earth potential. This stuff effectively creates pipework with insulated couplings!!
