I have heatline S24, (inherited ), when i moved in 2 weeks ago, no hot water, heating, a gas plumber had given it a landlord safety certificate 21 month prior, before sale. Called in trusted plumber, he says pressure valve was not working (water running slowly down wall from overflow). He took it out and cleaned it, tested it, got water and heating. Next morning, all back to no water. Rung plumber and he said need to have new pressure valve, and he will find out cost.
What sort of price will this part be? I know the boiler was a very cheap, and not great one, but I really can not afford to replace as yet, better to get a few more years out of it.

Thats a very minor matter. The part is probably under £25.

In the meantime, you can top up the pressure yourself.

The only problem is that those boilers were always installed badly because the system was never power flushed. That means dirt is likely to get stuck under the relief valve and cause it to leak.
