I've moved into a flat with this hot water cylinder. While the boost function works, the overnight, economy seven setting doesn't. I think there are two immersion heaters - Cotherm? Is the most likely reason that one of them has packed up? If so, do they cost much to replace and can my local plumber sort it out or is it a specialist job?

p.s. there's also a very light leaking from one of the connecting pipes - almost like condensation but enough to gradually rot the carpet round it.

Have you checked for a seperate isolating switch for the E7 immersion?

Or any fuses are ok?

Or the safety lockout button hasn't popped on the E7 immersion?

This will only come on at night auotmatically usually so you will need to check it then.

Thanks for the reply Dave - not the most popular post for replies this one it seems.

No separate isolating switch, safety lock out or fuse problem I can see.

I might be wrong with the Economy seven reference - I mean cheaper overnight heating - there's nothing saying economy seven on the cylinder.

E7 is just a generic term used for overnight cheap rate electric.

Do you have a seperate E7 fuse box?
