I have a heatslave 12/14 combi oil boiler. If i installed a solar panel with a pre-heat tank can I pass mains water through the tank via a coil in the tank and then on to the heat exchanger in the combi to re-heat or not (depending upon inlet temperature) the water. Can the DHW flow valve work with hotter water? and can the plate heat exchanger cope with hot water on its cold side?
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

Check with Worcester tech, as not all combis will accept pre-heated inlet water.

A company called Smart Energy do this type of set-up, but divert the solar water through two zone valves. One valve for higher temperatures and one for lower that passes through the combi. The two zone valves are operated independently via a cylinder stat . The engineer that installed one said the water temperature has to be kept down on the combi because they would loose the combi warranty! The higher temperature water goes straight to the house.
Note the cylinder is unvented thus keeping mains pressure to the combi, not gravity fed ;)
