Heatslave strange diverter valve problem

Hi I have a Worcester heatslave oil combi boiler the diverter valve was stuck in the hw position I took off the motorised head freed up the stem and thought all was good,however when I've put it back together the head seems to be powered all the time making it default to ch if I kill the power it goes back to hw as it should,is it likely to bethe head at fault or an electrical gremlin? Oh it also still diverts to hw when a tap is turned on but goes straight back to ch after.most confused! Any suggestions?! Thanks Ben

Think there is a stat on the heat bank mate. Could be stuck in satisfied mode.

Thanks,when you say heat bank do you mean the hot water tank under the diverter?shoyld it not default back to dhw anyway? Sorry to be a nuisance!

The Valve should be up (Spring relaxed) for HW, and down (Spring compressed) for CH are you saying that the radiators are getting hot even though the controls are not calling for heat?

Yes the dial for the ch is turned right off I have tried it with the programmer disconnected and still the same, hw works fine but as soon as demand for hw ceases diverter goes back to ch with pump running. And boiler firing (not constantly)also if I remove the motor head off the diverter it is tirning constantly I don't know of that's normal?? Thanks for your help

You need to find out where the feed for CH is coming from. Check the programmer output terminal to make sure the programmer really is off, and follow the pcb circuit through the room stat terminals to see if the pcb is faulty. Also, what room thermostat do you have? If it is a programmable one, the fault could be there.
