I'm about to hang my kitchen wall units later this week and I know the height you set them depends on how tall you are, what height you want them etc but is there a minimum distance between worktop and bottom of wall unit or something that's considered "standard".

I was thinking 600mm but I've just read another article which recommends 500mm

The height of the kitchen units, should be governed firstly by the height of any floor standing unit, ie built in cabinet for cooker or larder unit. If you do not have any tall units, then it should be based on the clearance from worktop to underside of cabinet. THen on how tall/short you are. Hope that Helps

If you're having a tall larder, oven or fridge housing then that will be your height from top to carry on in line with the wall units.

Also see this, a useful website.
