I have a Worcester 28Cdi combi. I've just replaced the automatic air vent but when I fill the system water spurts out of the AAV before the pressure gauge shows any pressure. What have I done wrong?

Could be that it has just got stuck on the inside of the air bottle, although I can't see how  or maybe the operating lever on the float has become dislodged.

Take it off, check it over then re-fit.

Could also just be a faulty one.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I panicked a bit, the problem was obviously either a sticking or faulty valve. I removed and tested it with a hose and it would not work even after shaking or tapping it. The old one works fine though!

Some limescale remover, left in the hole for a couple of minutes, often makes the old ones seal properly.
