Well only intermittently and we are having cold showers!
I have a Potterton Lynx 2 boiler and it is about 13 years old (so done quite well!). It is a combination boiler and has 9 radiators running off it. Over the last couple of years it has seemed to be struggling a bit and then we had a circuit board replaced and since then it has never coped with running a hot bath in cold weather unless we run the tap veeerrry slowly!
It seems like we must have a leak as the water pressure keeps falling (in the boiler) today, even after topping the boiler up it keeps switching off. I have spent the whole evening trying to get a hot bath and although the heating has stayed on (thankfully), no bath.
When the boiler refuses to come on the 'demand' light is coming on but the 'ignition' or 'flame' light wont. It has stayed on now for a couple of hours though tonight. Obviously I don't want to leave it until we have no heating either, so do I need a new boiler does anyone have any idea?
Anyway, sorry for the long post, its just that if I need a new boiler, I have no idea what to get. I still want a combi though. I have also considered having an extension sometime in the future (possibly), so ideally would like a boiler that could cope with even more radiators/extra bathroom.
Anyway, any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Fiona
