Hey all,

New here, competent DIYer but never fitted any kitchens

I have an ikea kitchen with Matte black doors / cover panels which turn out to be an absolute nightmare to keep clean - yes I was warned but didn’t listen lol.

Being an ikea kirchen now a few years into ownership I want to change all the cabinet doors to a different colour / finish, all of the cover panels can be changed easily apart from this one pictured.

Does anyone have advice on how to change this with minimal removal of other units? There is some space between the worktop and the panel so that wouldn’t cause it to not be able to come out.

How are full end panels like this usually fixed to the end of the carcass?

Thanks in advance!

End panels should be fixed with screws inside the cabinets.
I say should because some bodgers glue them with silicone or no more nails, hopefully not in your case.
You might have to slide the oven out to reach some screws.
DIY kitchens make panels and doors to custom size if yours are not standard.

If it's a massive issue removing it, could you mask, sand and spray paint it?

If the other panels you buy have a RAL number, you just get paint with the same number.
