Hey guys, recently the blasted cats been behind the TV and I think it damaged the coax wall plate as our HD channels disappeared, bought a new one and fitted it and all fine, got all the channels back, however in my stupid attempt to make the job cleaner, I shortened the coax cable so much that it can't now even get into the wall plate! Is there any way I can extend this and repair my stupidity?

Dunno about the coax but I think you might have a damp problem judging by the state of that back box and surrounding plaster.
Can you solder? Not much space, in which to attempt a normal joint in there - I would try to extend the inner core, by soldering a bit of copper wire on to it, cover with some sleeving, and wind a few turns of wire around the screen, to get that to the ground terminal.
Will that fit in the back plate though...

F-plugs. It uses 2x F-plugs, and an F-plug back to back connector.
Have you tried giving the existing cable a wiggle and a tug - you may be able to pull a few extra inches out of the wall.
Yeah I tried that, alas to no avail. Managed to get it in, but getting no channels , which is weird so maybe it's not long enough or something...I don't bloody know...will give the f plug thing a try and if all else fails will cancel my TV licence and just watch YouTube and Netflix.
You are stripping and also connecting the outer cable aren’t you? I can’t see that in the photo. This bit:
First time yes and it worked, now I couldn't get that in, not long enough and it's not working. Does that inner white bit need to rest on the bit where you put the red arrow for it work properly?
