Sorry to say very highly unlikely that an Insurance Claim would be accepted.
There are at least 3 clauses in ALL policies.
1/. A policy will cover you for an unexpected, SUDDEN event, pipe burst, external flood, storm, car impacts with your house or a wall [or such like] but the Policy cannot cover an event that has been on-going for some time.
2/. Poor or faulty workmanship, where the [ubiquitous] Cowboy screws up something.
3/. Poor or faulty "Design"
