Tried every search I can think of....

Someone posted here once showing the results of an experiment to see how much current a dimmed lamp actually took at reduced brightness.

Anyone remember it, know where it is?

Well, yes it does, but not by as much as you may think. Have a look for yourself.

Notice the lines on the dimmer switch, One is Off, the middle one is 50 % (its halfway between off and on) the last is fully on.

Do observe the reading (in Watts) shown on the display.

Although the dimmer is set to 50% do look at the watts, its not 50% of the total
