We live in a Victorian house and are currently having our loft converted. We have ordered fire rated reclaimed pine doors from a specialist company to match the existing doors. However, I do not know what the finish is on our existing doors (pic below) and our builder couldn't help either. The door company believes the original doors have been waxed.

Does anyone have any idea the best way to treat the new doors to match the existing ones?

Thanks in advance for your help.

i dont know the answer, probably as above.

However, the door in the pic has been to the stripper's for paint removal before any kind of possible wax finish was applied - when was it stripped, who knows?

Victorian pine doors were never ever exposed pine this is a 70/80s thing that lingers. Don't worry about matching from an authenthicity perspective. You could just paint all white and they would match.
