Help!!!! I changed 2 plastic 2 gang,2 way light switches for 2 second hand brass ones, when switches were switched off, the bulb would have a slight flash every 5 seconds, so I thought perhaps switches were faulty, bought 2 new switches, still problems.I wired as follows. Switch 1=red + yellow(red band on it) into L1 (it says on plate 1 way)Black (red band on it)+ blue (red band on it and blue sticky tape on it??) into L2 (says 2 way) Red into common. Earth into brass plate.
Switch 2=Yellow (red band on it)into L1 (1 way) Blue (red band on it)into L2 (2 way) Red into Common. Earth into brass plate. Now if switch 2 is on, switch 1 will turn light on and off.no flashing, If I use switch 1 and turn light on,all ok, however, if I use switch 1 to turn off, bulb flashes. Any idea, or have I wired wrong. I would be happy for some advise as I am stumped!!,as I am thinking, is it something to do with switch 1's blue wire with red band, with a bit of blue sticky tape?? cheers,Delainie.
