Good afternoon,
I have recently moved in to a property which has a communal Intercom system installed but the handset in my flat was ripped off by previous tenant (for some unknown reason ). I have bought a new handset which seems to be a upgrade of the last one (possibly discontinued) & "copied" the wiring from old one as no instructions were sent & now just get "Tel Disconnected" on the display of the external unit.
Privacy button sounds & illuminates when pushed.
Entry doesn't open the door but can hear a fast "engaged"/disconnected line tone through the handset speaker.

Housing Association won't help as I'm in a Private Let property in their complex. Landlord unsure of where to start so here I am seeking any & all advice.

Old Unit - GDX5
New Unit - GDX 23150

Pictures below of old unit wired in to ports 1-4 & same with new unit.

Thanks in advance (y)

Looks like it may be the wrong handset.

Your new GDX-23150 handset is intended for GDX GDX1/GDX3 2 system.

You probably need a 23121 handset for a GDX5 system.

I'm not sure, but the system might also need your flat to be 'turned on' at the control unit.

Your landlord has to raise a maintenance request with the housing association who are the freeholder or factor / managing agents of your building.

Much appreciated, I did see your post earlier but been busy with work & new baby but did automatically order the one you recommended.
All is now working as it should be just by copying the input from old unit, thank you very muchly :)

Better to have a new baby other than an old one.

I just love it when someone else is just starting sleepless nights, my youngest is 43 next year and I can still hear her crying and screeming as a baby. She nearly didn't make it to two let alone 43.

Still, you still love them don't you?

Hello

I have a query concerning the wiring to your new handset intercom.

Did you re-attach the wires into their respective ports using a particular sequence or not ? ie white & blue first, then blue & white second etc etc ?

I hope to install a replacement GDX-23121 in the days ahead and am wondering if the rewiring needed to be done via a sequence.

Thanks...
