help - honeywell product

28Si manual here:

To wire up a CM907, you simply connect boiler terminal Ls to thermostat terminal A and boiler Lr to thermostat B. See manual Figs 12 and 14.

It is probably a stupid question but i must ask. The boiler instruction manual shows the R and Ls connections as "230 V Room Thermostat Connections", the honeywell product is only battery operated so it will not be a t 230volts is this still ok to connect to the 230v connections lr and ls on the boiler.

Yes, it is fine. Although the CM907 is battery operated, its switching contacts are desgined to work at 230V.

Thanks.

Do you have aby suggestion in terms of wiring brand. I would need a three core for the boiler mains and a two core wire for the thermo boiler connection. Do they both need to be 0.75?

be careful, the information you have been provided with is not complete.
You need to link the Ls and Lr terminals on the boiler if your stat is to operate at 230v.

I also doubt the fact that the CM907 can operate with 230v on its terminals.

What? If you link Ls and Lr then the stat will be cut out of the loop and the boiler constantly called for heat.

The CM907 relay is rated at 230V AC (3A) as Mikely stated.

To the OP, I suggest you ignore this first post from Plimico as whilst I'm sure his/her intentions were honourable it is nevertheless incorrect.

Thanks MJN, don’t know why plimico thinks that information is incomplete. I agree that he/ she is incorrect. The CM range would be pretty useless if it could not control 230V equipment. Check the spec sheet if you want confirmation.

From the point of view of current rating, 0.75 cable would be fine. Depending how and where you are running the wiring, it may be more appropriate to use 1.0 or 1.5 twin and earth cable.

thanks to all again. I think that plimico was probably confused by the instructions for my boiler which do show a link between terminals ls and lr.

I have made my mind up and i think that the best setup for my situation is probably the honeywell cm927 rather than the 907.

At the moment the pts BUT timer wired in. The instructions for this one show the following:

As mentioned before I think that the boiler mains are wired into this or behind it in a junction box.

Is the wiring for the cm927 similar to the wiring shown on here or how does it differ?

thanks again.

p.s. i've tried a few links to get instructions for the cm927 but i cannot find any useful link. Do you have one?[/img]
