help! metal nut stuck on plastic screw

Looks like clear silicone to me too... Maybe some silicone-eater would do the trick if the lubricants aren't helping.

Thanks for your help - where would the silicone come from? Ive also uploaded a new pic the gallery

Like I said previous owner probably left off the washer and tried to seal leak with silicon.

Update - after using half a tin of WD40, 2 pairs of pliers which didnt do anything, I've moved onto silicone remove, just appied and need to wait 3 hours; will post an update later.
 
Silicone remover did nothing either, think its gonna have to be a new shower at this rate...

Any other ideas?

Silicone remover is for small amounts , you need to remove by hand , rough scourer should do it in seconds.Pliers are of no use, they crush, you need a tool of the right size.
