Please help. We ran out of oil yesterday and have a Mistral Combi Boiler Model 15/20. We have had a delivery of oil today, but I cannot re-start the boiler. Any ideas?

thank you. We have just switched off the oil supply at the tap in the boiler and undone the connection. When opening the tap, no oil came out so we are presuming there is a blockage. Any ideas?

How long did you wait. Did there appear to be any pressure when valve opened.
How high is the tank above the burner?

We waited about 5 minutes. There didn't seem to be any pressure. The tank is about 3ft above the burner, about 30 feet away the boiler.

Sounds like it is air locked.
Two options. Disconnect pipe at the tank and blow from boiler to clear.
Or use a suction pump to suck oil to boiler.
I prefer the former as it clears any gunk in the pipe.

We have now disconnected pipe at the tank and blown air to clear pipe. We have also cleaned the filter at the tank. We re-connected and then opened the valve until a constant flow of oil came through. We have now tried to re-start, but still not working. Are we missing something else?

Youve either goosed the oil pump on the burner by running out of oil, or the pump is full of air which needs venting.
