help needed-incorporating car port with adjoining singe garage

Hi All for my first post
on the attached photos you can see we have a very well built car port to the left of the single integrated garage
We plan to enclose the car port on one side put a garage door on the front and a door and window on the rear wall with brickwork around
We plan to take out the existing garage side wall and support whats above with an RSJ so we have a double garage
The length of the RSJ will be 6m long max
So what size of RSJ do members think we would need - sorry cannot afford a structural engineer!

Are you getting council permission? You will need a structural engineer.

I tried to not use an engineer, turned out I had to and in the end it was the best £250 I spent.
