In order for the detergent to be dispensed, the back pressure in the lance has to be reduced.
Does the machine have either a low pressure nozzle or some setting where the back pressure is minimal?
Try running the machine with the nozzle removed if possible.
John :)

does the detergent vessel have a cap on it with an air vent? is the vent clogged? Loosen the cap.

The pressure in a moving fluid reduces as its speed increases. So water flowing through the lance will tend to suck.

I can't see from your pic where the detergent tube attaches.

Thanks for replies . I will take some pictures tomorow when it is light . Tried running with cap off to no avail . Lance has few pressure settings it is a short lance , when nozzle is pulled out it is on minimul pressure then full pressure when pushed back .iv tried running it on that but no luck . Maybe i need to try for longer than i have . Pictures will only show pipe coming from detergant vessel (ie handle block) to pump which i have removed today to clean . It looks like it is flowing nicely but not out of lance ..

Just a update, since photos were taken iv removed the tubes and fully cleaned them and the black connector to the pump . I feel the pump is not drawing soap through as tried again and tubes still clear .also removed lance from jet wash and let the water run freely through

The pump is an axial cam pressure pump - I don’t recognise it but it could be an early Comet one.
If you can see where the chemical injection pipe enters the pump, well below that is usually a ball bearing that blocks off a passage (port) when the machine is used at high pressure, and when low pressure is called for the ball comes away under light spring pressure allowing the chemical through.
Its my guess that this ball is stuck with solidified detergent but I’m generalising here.
Maybe there’s something on youtube that would help......the pumps are simple enough its vital that the O ring water seals are in good nick.
John :)

Thanks john , would the pump be movable by the 4 screws (hidden by jet wash hose) and possible to clean ,if i soak it in hot water to loose off any solidfield detergent around the ball bearing as jet pressure is great but sounds like what you are saying makes sense also if you could source a you tube link as i wouldnt know were to start looking lol

Those 4 horizontal screws are the ones I’d go for......if you remove the larger vertical ones then the oil will belch out
You’ll not do any harm anyway, so good luck with it!
I assume you’ve disconnected the chemical supply pipe from the tank by now, and the solution is running freely.
John :)

Yes chemical supply pipe is removed will remove lance in morning then go for the 4 screws . Will try soaking it in hot water this may help remove any clogging in there .. thank you hopefully this will do it

Ok iv removed and cleaned the part you said just one thing b4 i put it back together is the little brass fitting out of the pump and if so which way should i put it back in as when i removed lance it fell onto table and it is not off lance

Not yet as been to work unsure what to do about the brass spare part lol... dont want to shove it back in only to find its in back to front then its stuck will fire it up in morning without it in first and let you know

Looking at the first of that group of pics....the aluminium casting does look a bit moth eaten. Is that where the brass insert came from?
One point.....as I mentioned in post #2, the detergent dispensing is completely dependant on the back pressure in the lance/hose. On two occasions I had to replace the lance with a pattern part and in both situations the detergent wouldn't flow, so obviously the back pressure is critical. However, with the lance plugged in but without a nozzle - i.e no back pressure the detergent tank emptied in seconds.
John :)
