I am in the process of planning a large raised deck.
I thought it best to attach a ledger board to the side of the house as it will be about 4ft above ground level. I want to create a flush walk through from inside to out.
Is it o.k to attach the ledger board over the air vents with a 10mm gap or would that not leave enough space for adequate airflow.

Advice welcomed

that'd be OK, IMHO

Hopefully you'll be using handrails too, at that height?

Thanks,
Thinking of having steps across the middle 20ft of the deck and bench seating across the two end sections.

P.S by the way would you recommend using 10x2 or 12x2 for the stair stringers.
