Do not buy one with a fuse.
Why, what harm will a extra form of current protection do
It's not necessary and they tend to overheat.
13A devices don't seem to like immersions.

providing the immersion heater is =< 3Kw what it likely is. If the heater is >3Kw and <3.68Kw , then yes get this and get it delivered.
Yes, I agreed that that one should be purchased.

After such a helpful response last time, i took your advice and bought the Timecard model. The wiring here is a lot easier to follow than the cheap chinese model i got before. Just a question regarding the earth wire, their doesn't seem to be a socket on the back of the switch and the instructions are pictured. Can someone explain what to do in a clearer fashion for me. Thank you.

The earth's are to be joined all together (including the one hopefully attached to the metal back box) in the back box using a terminal block or maintenance free connection such as a wago connector. You should have 3 earth wires, one from the mains, one to the immersion heater, and one attached to the back box it's self; all to be joined together in a suitable connector as said above.

L & N marked on your new timer switch are where the Live and Neutral supply from the mains go, and SL and Nout are where the Live and Neutral feed to the immersion heater go. Now I amuse you know that L/Sl represents the Live's and N/Nout represents the Neutrals.

You're 'avin' a larf.

What I mean is that I assume he know the L if for the Line supply from the mains and the N is for the Neutral supply from the mains; and equally that SL is the switched Line out to the immersion heater and that Nout is for the Neutral to the immersion heater. In other words, not to reverse the polarity of Live and Neutral, Hence L ine and N eutral.

Thank you for your reply. Does this mean i will have to buy either a new back box with an earth terminal in or buy an earthing connector. If so can you provide any link to what sort of connector will do the job.

If you haven't an earth terminal in the back box, then just get one section of a small 'chocolate block' connector and join the earth wires.
