Hi, I am trying to dismantle a 1950’s reclining armchair so I can refinish the wood and get the seat and back upholstered, struggling to remove the back (see photos) not sure what the little screws were for, they seem to be original but can’t figure what they do, the bolt has no way of tightening or loosenin, could be the frame was constructed around it, any advice?

Cheers. Paul
