help water tooo hot

"i have a vaillant boiler and the hot water has been too hot for a long time now, last week it got so hot it boiled up the tank overflow busted a pipe in the loft and leaked all through the ceilings. no matter what temp i set on the hot water tank thermostat it still comes out scalding there is just less of it. vaillant serviced it but no differemce, valley heating installed it but have been extremely unhelpful...help

Have you checked that your immersion heater (if you have one) is switched off?
