Switch above counter, socket below. Replaced switch with chrome fitting. Took diagrams of old switch wiring and replicated. Now neon only lit dim and no power coming through socket. Any ideas?

There is a double socket next to the washing machine switch. Two red and two black and two earth come from the direction of the double socket, I presume these are feed/input. A single red, a black and an earth come from below ( above socket under worktop), I presume these are the load?

Sorry, Cammy, but if irt worked before and it doesn't work now something didn't get replicated. But if you're sure the wires are in the right holes, probably means one or more of them is loose. Have another look.

Trapped a bit of the plastic insulation in one of the terminals?

I rewired it today. Same result. Could it be the feed from double socket? I will rewire that too. It has load from window fan in bathroom through the wall also, so 3 lives, 3 neutrals etc, one may be loose, report tomorrow... Thanks all

Redone both washing machine switch and double socket. Same prob...dim neon, low voltage. First time I done it, I had load and feed negatives the wrong way round...this gave me full working neon but still low voltage, does this help any of you experts? Thanks....

And what happens if you wire up your original switch in place of the new chrome one? Same result?
