Help with a lighting fixture

But when you are reversing, really, you are facing left, looking backwards from the corner of your eye.

no I'm not...
I happen to drive an escort van with solid back doors.. all I would see if I did that would be the mess in the back of the van..
i face forwards and use the side mirrors to reverse..
:D

I really appreciate this help, I thought my question would have just been overlooked.

Erm yes the screw is inset too deep to turn the plyers sideways.
No theyre not plastic theyre metal.
Cutting a slit into them would be a good idea but they are too recessed for me to get anything to slit them in the hole.
I don't know which way up is the correct way for me to be facing for lefty loosey rightey tightey but I'll just keep trying.
And I am living in Lancashire.

I'm sorry I've only got the one or I would send one to you. I've had mine about 15 years and haven't seen another. Seems like they are rare as rocking horse ****e, can't find any on the interweb. Surprised you cannot open it with pliers mind. Good luck.

take a piece of tube of the right size ( slightly smaller than the head ) and heat it, then knock it onto the screw head.. make your own key..
tube of the right diameter is likely available in steel or aluminium from some of the DIY stores..
I know that B&Q warehouses have a metal stock section.. plate, bar (round, square, twisded etc ), tube, grilles etc

Not everything is threaded clockwise. The bezel on a fan grille, the bolts on a nearside VW Beetle roadwheel...
And conversely of course, the offside spinners on wire-wheeled cars with splined hubs.

There's more than one person who has got that wrong on a rebuild, and had the interesting experience of seeing one of his rear wheels overtake him. (I'm not one, I can assure you).

One side of bicycle pedals for the same reason.

If you know the name of that type of key then I could maybe search it on google. It's a real pain.

The end you can't see has a triangular hole. IHNFI if it's the right size though..

Lets have a comment from someone who likes reversing left hand drive vehicles.
No problem.

Apart from reversing into parking spaces - I have to spend a ludicrous amount of time working out which side to put the wheels up against.

Now let's hear from someone who likes doing 3-point turns with a trailer....

Done it with a 'van on the back...hairy!

that's a cabinet multi-key BAS. way too big I should think...
I did notice that our local tesco's sells them though.. so it might be worth a look to the OP..
