I have been tasked with moving a rad for someone. Their boiler is a Danesmoor Utility oil-fired model (looks quite old). I have only ever done such a task on a combi. Does draining down just mean

1. Switch off boiler; tie up the feed tank ballcock, or switch off the water, whichever is easier
2. Finding a convenient drain point and draining
3. Doing the plumbing changes
4. Refill and bleed etc
5. Fire up the boiler
6. Bleed as necessary.

What about inhibitor - X100 required?

Thanks a lot

Thanks. One other thing...next to it is what I presume is a hot tank, namely a Range Tribune, with its two expansion vessels. Do I need to consider this huge lump in my 7 actions above? Expansion vessels make me nervous....

I guess you're right. I'll call a local plumber and try to get them to do the job. Thanks for those that helped.
