Hi all, new here. Moved into house with old alarm system in it. Don't have any codes and it keeps going off during power cuts (usually through the night) for 20 minutes at a time.

Would appreciate if someone knows what type of system this is so I can either cut the wires to it or replace battery and reset engineer / user codes.

Thanks in advance..

Looks like a Honeywell Accenta. If it goes off during a power cut, the main battery has failed. I can't see it in your photos but assume it is on the other end of the red and black wires at the bottom of photo 1.

There is another small battery in the sounder outside which is making it 'go off'. If you remove the mains power from the control panel, after a few minutes it will become discharged and go quiet, provided you don't reconnect the power and charge it up again.

If you have a metre measure the voltage on the battery terminals. If that is 13v+ then you just need to install a new battery 2.1AH.
