Mother in law has a problem with her LS80 which you all seem to love on here.

Her hot water works fine but the heating side of it doesn't work anymore.

I have been around to have a quick look at it just to keep her sweet, but I don't really want to mess about with it.

The on switch is in the on position and the power light is on, the other switch is in the winter position but the light isn't on. The room stat is set at max.

I will do a continuity test on the room stat to ensure that this is working correctly.

After looking at the fault finding central heating flowchart it looks like all it might be is a faulty switch if the room stat works correctly and check that there is 230-240v at L-N.

Could it actually be this simple? Or could it be a faulty board?

Only reason for asking is that she's a tight fisted c*w and goes on and on about it forever and a day.

TIA

Carl.

It could be that simple - easy enough to test. Or sticky DV switch - if it's got one, too late too look it up..
The boards do "go" though. as do sensors etc.

ASk a Yellow Pages company the price to get and change the board. There should be scope for you to do whatever it is cheaper and win a nice beige cardie for Christmas as well. Deep joy.
