Help with new Boiler (Plumber disapperared)

If the installer has used the Vaillant filling loop, then there are two valves for the water to get past, but not impossible I guess... Failing to fill a vaillant combi correctly can result in a damaged primary HE. There is an overheat switch to protect this but it can activate too late. There is a code to signal this that cannot be removed from the boilers memory... Danger Mouse is the guy who knows these boilers well.... What has happened to him?

If the valves have been shut, it could be a pin hole in the plate HE.

More common than one would expect in new Ecotec Plus plates unfortunately

Water byelaws require a filling loop to be disconnected and capped of after use - by the way...

Far too many installers seem to think it is okay to leave connected..!

What about them ? - they are designed as part of the appliance, generally unknown to the user, designed differently to the filling loop although have the same function.

Sorry about the impatience!!

In my industry we have to run a 24hr call out facility with a 4hr response time, so I tend to expect everyone else to do the same (wrongly!)

Sorry for appearing rude gentlemen and ladies

Neil

We also run an emergency call out service. However, that attracts a premium payment and I am sure your industry does too and from what I know about it I expect its a major source of earnings.

This installer was not going to get paid any more for coming out on the Sunday!

He should have answered but you have to understand that many people like to have a day or two to their families at the weekend.

You have not said anything about payment?

Did he rush off with lots of cash in his pocket?

Dont assume he is not registered until he has failed to present any evidence that he is.

Part of the installation is to notify it to the building control and to complete the Benchmark Certificate. Without both of those there can be difficulties!

Can you take and post a photo of the pipework under the boiler on here?

Tell us more!

Tony
